First round of pics - more to come.
Day 1 (Thursday):
We drove out of Bangkok on a double decker private bus with our lovely
and knowledgable local guide named "Anan", saw the King's summer home in
Ayutthaya, visited some Buddhist temple ruins at Wat Mahathat, drove
through lots of rice fields, and visited the Baan Gerda orphanage that
cares for 100+ HIV infected children. In summary: kids are happy,
sticky, tired, and humbled. Day 2 began with a drive to Kanchanaburi for
a visit to the War Cemetery, honoring those killed in the building of
the "Death Railway." This was followed by a boat ride to the Bridge on
the River Kwai for a walking tour, a riverside lunch, and an afternoon
petting tigers at the Temple Tiger Sanctuary. An evening ride on the
Death Railway itself led us back to the river to catch our shuttle boat
over to our hotel on our very own private island! Lush, green,
beautiful. An hour-long game of "Marco-Polo" in the pool capped off a
full day. Tomorrow we'll be washing and riding elephants and climbing to the majestic Erewan Falls. As if we weren't having enough fun already...

Great photos! It looks like everyone's having a good time, despite the humidity!
